Rathdrum South Reservoir

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Welch Comer Engineers provided design and construction management of a 50,000 gallon elevated storage reservoir for the City of Rathdrum.  The reservoir is 100 feet tall serves to equalize pressures in the southern zone of the water distribution system.  Telemetry located at the new reservoir is used to control variable frequency drives on the City's wells to regulate water pressure.  Hydraulic modeling utilizing WaterCad software was used to evaluate the affects of the new reservoir prior to selecting the site.
               
The project was also necessary to allow continued growth in the southern area of the City.  The City and a private developer worked together to jointly fund the project.
